In 2020, the Iranian national round of the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition was held and hosted by the Modern International Law Studies Centre (MIS) with the participation of 6 teams. These 6 teams represented Tabita Modarres University of Tehran, Allameh Tabatabaei University of Tehran, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Qom University and Islamic Azad University Central and South Branch.
The competition ended with University of Qom becoming the champion and Islamic Azad University Central Branch taking the second place.

A few months after the announcement of the national championship of Qom University and the arrangements for the travel to the United States to participate in the international rounds, ILSA announced the cancellation of the international rounds for the first time in the history of Jessup competitions due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
