Iranian Qualifying Rounds of Philippe C. Jessup Moot Court Competition 2022 was held in-person at Modern International Law Studies Centre. Four teams had registered for the Competition, three of which finally advanced to the National Rounds of Iran.
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) and Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU) competed with each other and each of them played the role of Applicant and the Respondent once.
The Preliminary Rounds were taken place on 24 February, 2022 and at the end of the day, the teams having acquired the higher points, (FUM and TMU) advanced to the Final Rounds. The Final Rounds was held in a leveled playing field and both teams showed high level of preparation.

There was then a 30-minute time of deliberation between the judges who subsequently announced the Respondent Team, FUM, as the Champion of Iran in Philippe C. Jessup Moot Court Competition. It has been for the first time that a team from a city other than Tehran has become the Champion of Jessup in Iran. TMU, however, was granted the ‘Best Memorial Award’. Ms. Fahimeh Maghsoudi and Ms. Hengame Elahifard were finally granted the ‘Best Oralist’ and ‘Second Best Oralist’ awards respectively. Professor Djamshid Momtaz, Dr. Mohsen Abdollahi, and Dr. Hassan Savari were also present during this professional event.
