On 20 &21 January 2019, MIS held the Jessup 2019- Iranian Qualifying Round in the MIS Tehran office.
This competition was organized in collaboration with the Iran’s National Administrator of International Law Students Association (ILSA), Mr. Anoshiravan Naderi.
This year’s national round was the biggest and most competitive Jessup competition in Iran since 2014, with the presence of 32 judges for the oral rounds and memorials and 9 participating teams.
All the recruited judges were notable scholars both from Iran and abroad, experienced in the Jessup competitions and other international moot competitions.
Each team competed four times, twice as respondent and applicant and two teams were chosen to be the finalist competing before a bench of five judges which included: Dr. Aniruddha Rajput, member of UN International Law Commission, Dr. Vismay Shroff, Professor Vasco de Jesus Rodrigues, Dr. Behzad Saberi and Dr. Alireza Kazemi Abadi.

The champion of this year’s qualifying round is Allameh Tabatabai University Team and the Runner up team is college of Farabi (University of Tehran) team and both teams were awarded during the closing ceremony.
Also, two other awards under the name of professor Vasco de Jesus Rodrigues were granted to a team and one of the participants.
Professor Vasco de Jesus Rodrigues Memorial Award given to a person dedicated to the Jessup Competition 2019 was given to Ms. Mahnaz Hosseinpour, and Professor Vasco de Jesus Rodrigues Memorial Award given to a team dedicated to the Jessup Competition 2019 was given to Azad University- Central Branch Team.
