MIS held a seminar named "A Dialogue on Some Current Global Legal Issues" on November 12, 2019. During this session that lasted for 3 hours, Professor Momtaz, Professor Mahmoudi, and H.E Judge Koroma gave speeches on a contemporary issue of International Law. Firstly, Judge Koroma elaborated on compulsory conciliation proceeding through the example of Timor-Leste and Australia's case concerning maritime delimitation. Secondly, Professor Momtaz addressed the use of force for fighting against International Terrorism. During his speech, he enumerated several cases which States invoked fighting against International Terrorism for use of force in another country's territory. Finally, Professor Mahmoudi addressed economic countermeasures, their impact on international trade, their legitimacy under International Law, and whether States can oblige other States to adhere to these countermeasures.
