International Jessup Summer School (Second Week Edition)

MIS held its second Jessup Summer School on 24-29 August 2019, in collaboration with the International Law Student Association (ILSA), and it had the honor to host Ms. Lesley Benn, Executive Director of ILSA, during this week.

The courses were selected carefully to cover necessary knowledge of Public International Law, Treaty Interpretation, Immunities of Heads of State, State Responsibility and Rules and Procedure of the ICJ, as well as subjects specific to the 2020 Jessup Compromis, such as War Crimes and Autonomous Weapons. Also some of the courses during the week were allocated to the necessary skills for the moot court competitions including Legal Research, Legal Writing and Legal Advocacy.  Course were delivered by Mr. Ulises Ruiz Lopart, Dr. Katayoun Hosseinnejad, Dr. Behzad Saberi, Dr. Mohammad Jafar Ghanbari Jahromi, Mr. Soroush Kafiabadi, Ms.Ekaterina Efimova, Mr. Seyed Mohammadali Abdollahi, Mr.Ali Masoudi and Dr. Sina Etezazian.  We are thankful to all of our lecturers for their invaluable contribution to this summer school, Jessup competition in Iran and eventually International Law.

On the last day of this Summer School, a mini moot was held and participants competed as respondent and applicant in 6 teams. Mr. Farzad Fallah, Dr. Hamideh Barmakhshad, Dr. Mojtaba Aharian, Mr. saeed Kaveh. Ms. Negin Nadeali, Ms. Farzaneh Montakhab, Ms. Parmida Asadi, Mr. Moein Naderi and Ms. Mahsa Rezagholi, were our respected judge, to whom we pay our sincere gratitude for sharing their experience and knowledge with the participants.
